Poulpharm CRO has expertise and developed a wide range of animal models related to parasitic, bacterial and viral related diseases. Poulpharm is well known in the poultry industry but has broaden his experience to (mini-)pigs and rabbits. Trials assess product efficacy, digestibility, safety and toxicity, all tailored to the need of the customer.
Preclinical studies at Poulpharm are GLP or GCP compliant, making Poulpharm a reliable research partner for conducting preclinical studies following appropriate regulatory guidelines.
Poulpharm is recognized by the Flemish government, Department of Environment, Department of Strategy, International Policy and Animal Welfare. Next to that, we also received the approval of the Flemish government, area development department, environmental planning and projects, to work with BSL2 pathogens and Type 2 GGOs.

The team consists of dedicated study directors, veterinarians, researchers, animal care takers, lab technicians, a quality manager and statistician, all supporting clients in their technical and scientific questions.

Poulpharm has fully equipped laboratories for a range of viral, bacterial and parasitic assays. Poulpharm lab is ISO 17025 accredited (BELAC 610-TEST) and GLP certified for this assays. GLP-compliant analytical assays for pharmacokinetic and residue studies are offered in collaboration with Vetspin (Italian satellite lab) or the Laboratory of Pharmacology and Toxicology, Ghent University.
In collaboration with a specialist in the Netherlands, study diets can be produced tailor-made.
Development of new study models and fundamental research in partnership with Ghent University (Chair Poultry Health Science).
Finally, Poulpharm is werking in close cooperation with the poultry and pig industry (farmers, veterinarians, feed mills, hatcheries,…), given them a close inside in the economically important field situations.
